Job Description
**Job Title:** Commercial Assurance Intern **Role Summary:** Assist the Assurance and Advisory team with audit, review, and compilation engagements during the busy season. Execute financial statement procedures, test internal controls, and prepare supporting workpapers under senior guidance while applying foundational accounting standards. **Expectations:** • Minimum 20 hours/week, flexible to class schedule, up to 40 hours if possible. <br>• Work during the 2026 audit season beginning in January. <br>• Attend occasional on‑site sessions in Irvine, CA. <br>• Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrate professional conduct and teamwork. **Key Responsibilities:** • Perform audit, review, and compilation procedures, including documentation of workpapers. <br>• Analyze client financial information and assist in preparing supporting documentation. <br>• Test and document internal control findings through inquiry and observation. <br>• Support year‑end and interim audit tasks such as inventory counts and reconciliations. <br>• Collaborate with senior auditors to produce concise, clear audit documentation. <br>• Learn and apply basic audit and accounting principles (FASB, GAAP, SSARS/GAAS). <br>• Gain exposure to audit software and technology tools. <br>• Communicate progress, ask questions, and seek feedback regularly. **Required Skills:** • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or economics (Junior or Senior). <br>• Minimum 3.0 GPA. <br>• Strong verbal and written communication in English. <br>• Organized, able to prioritize time‑sensitive tasks. <br>• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. <br>• Knowledge of fundamental accounting principles. <br>• Leadership experience and teamwork ability. **Required Education & Certifications:** Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or economics (current Junior or Senior); authorized to work in the United States without future sponsorship.
