Job Description
**Job Title:** Care Team Leader – Nights **Role Summary:** Responsible for leading and managing the night‑shift care team in a 76‑bed residential care home. Provides direct clinical care, ensures compliance with care standards, motivates staff, and oversees performance management to deliver high‑quality resident outcomes. **Expactations:** - Maintain and improve resident care standards during night shifts. - Lead, motivate, and support the care team to achieve performance targets. - Conduct accurate clinical observations and record vital signs. - Ensure all statutory and internal policies are followed. - Communicate effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary staff. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide on‑duty leadership and direction to the night care team. - Perform enhanced clinical duties (blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature, SpO₂, urine output). - Supervise, appraise, and manage staff performance and development. - Deliver induction and ongoing training for team members. - Monitor and report on care quality, incident management, and compliance. - Support resident well‑being by fostering a person‑centred care environment. **Required Skills:** - Strong leadership and team‑building abilities. - Excellent verbal and written communication. - Proven ability to motivate and empower staff. - Clinical observation and basic health monitoring competence. - Organizational and time‑management skills. - Compassionate, resident‑focused attitude. **Required Education & Certifications:** - NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent). - Current DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance (implicit for care roles). - Relevant first‑aid or basic life support certification preferred.
