Job Description
**Job Title:** Epic Senior Systems Analyst **Role Summary:** Lead the design, configuration, testing, deployment, and support of Epic applications, ensuring optimal clinical and operational workflows, regulatory compliance, and service level attainment in a healthcare environment. **Expectations:** - Deliver high‑quality Epic solutions that meet business needs and adhere to ITIL, change control, and SDLC processes. - Maintain a secure, stable application environment while coordinating with architects, tech leads, and external partners. - Drive process improvements for Epic application management and support. - Mentor junior analysts and influence best practices across the team. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. **Requirements & Design** - Engage stakeholders, gather requirements, and map current‑state workflows. - Create design documents, decision logs, and conduct gap analyses for upgrades or new initiatives. 2. **Application Build & Deployment** - Configure records, master files, workflows, security classes, and profiles. - Maintain environment parity, adhere to change‑management and naming conventions. - Develop and execute unit, integration, and UAT test plans; log defects and produce evidence. - Validate interfaces, printing, reporting, and downstream workflows. 3. **Release & Hypercare Management** - Coordinate release management, environment moves, downtime procedures, and patching. - Provide post‑go‑live support (hypercare, rounding, office hours, tip sheets). 4. **Incident & Problem Management** - Manage service requests and incidents, meet SLAs via triage and root‑cause analysis. - Provide advanced support for Epic, Workday, Kronos, and other applications. 5. **Integration & Data Management** - Collaborate on HL7, FHIR, PDFs, CCD/CCDA interfaces. - Partner with analytics teams on Clarity/Caboodle extracts and reporting. 6. **Project Management** - Lead small‑scale implementation and upgrade projects using waterfall or agile methodologies. 7. **Compliance & Risk** - Support regulatory readiness (CMS, Joint Commission), audits, and policy alignment. - Embed privacy/security controls and audit trails. 8. **Training & Documentation** - Create comprehensive configuration and process documentation. - Mentor junior staff on best practices. **Required Skills:** - Deep understanding of Epic (clinical, revenue cycle, or IT modules). - Strong requirements gathering, workflow design, and testing capabilities. - Proficiency in ITIL, change control, SDLC, system governance. - Experience with waterfall and agile project management. - Excellent written and oral communication with clinical, operational, and managed‑service teams. - Ability to produce clear, traceable documentation and change logs. - Analytical mindset for data integrity and metric consistency across modules. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or related field. - Minimum 5–7 years of healthcare system analysis and support experience (or 10+ years without degree). - Current Epic Certification or proficiency in at least one major Epic module (HB, PB, Cadence, Referrals, Orders, ClinDoc, etc.) is preferred.
