**Job Title** Head of Legal Technology, Innovation & Operations **Role Summary** Lead the legal operations function for a global SaaS company, establishing and executing a technology roadmap that enhances productivity, automates workflows, and drives data‑driven decision making across a ~100‑person legal team. Partner with cross‑functional teams (IT, Product, Finance, etc.) to align legal technology initiatives with broader corporate objectives and manage the legal department’s budget, vendor relationships, and knowledge management systems. **Expectations** - Build a world‑class legal technology stack, including AI, contract lifecycle, e‑discovery, and knowledge management tools. - Deliver measurable ROI on tech investments and operational efficiencies that support company growth. - Transition the legal operations team from a 4‑person unit to a scalable, high‑performance organization. - Maintain ethical and responsible AI practices and ensure compliance with privacy and regulatory requirements. **Key Responsibilities** 1. **Technology & Innovation** - Own the legal technology roadmap; implement AI, tools, and systems for contract management, litigation, IP, entity, and privacy work. - Build and roll out the legal team’s tech stack, ensuring ethical AI deployment. - Partner with IT & product leaders to influence roadmap decisions; hold business reviews with stakeholders. - Track ROI of technology solutions; optimize tool usage. 2. **Operational Management** - Develop & execute long‑term roadmap for legal team effectiveness. - Collaborate with Chief of Staff on strategic planning, prioritization, and OKR execution. - Coordinate with Sales, Finance, Procurement, People, R&D on company‑wide initiatives. - Establish litigation support, e‑discovery, legal hold, document review, and retention policy. - Lead annual planning: budget, headcount, workplace planning, OKRs. 3. **Financial & Vendor Management** - Manage legal department budget (outside counsel, tech, internal expenses); forecast, accrue, and variance analyze with Finance. - Build and maintain a vendor management program; negotiate fee agreements, enforce billing guidelines. 4. **Knowledge Management** - Organize, implement, and maintain a centralized legal knowledge repository. - Standardize processes, nomenclature, and training in partnership with the Program Management Office. **Required Skills** - Strategic vision and execution in legal operations & technology. - Deep understanding of AI, contract lifecycle, e‑discovery, legal spend analytics. - Strong stakeholder‑management, influencing cross‑functional teams. - Financial acumen: budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis. - Vendor relationship management and negotiation skills. - Leadership of high‑performance teams; experience scaling operations. - Data‑driven mindset; proficiency in reporting and analytics. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Computer Science, or related field (JD/LL.M. preferred). - CPA, CFA, or equivalent financial certification is advantageous. - Prior experience as a Legal Operations Lead or similar role with technology focus. ---
