Job Description

**Job Title:** Full Stack Engineer **Role Summary:** Design, develop, and maintain end‑to‑end software solutions for UK national security and law‑enforcement programmes. Lead backend development using Python or Java, with optional front‑end React implementation and Azure cloud integration. Deliver high‑quality, secure code in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment and mentor junior engineers. **Expectations:** - Deep technical problem‑solving ability. - Strong teamwork and client‑facing communication. - Proactive mentorship and leadership within a small, rapidly growing organisation. - Commitment to secure software practices and continuous improvement. **Key Responsibilities:** - Architect, implement, and refactor scalable backend services in Python or Java. - Build responsive front‑end components with React when required. - Deploy and manage applications on Azure (IaC, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring). - Write unit and integration tests, enforce code quality standards. - Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and knowledge‑sharing sessions. - Ensure compliance with security, data‑protection, and safeguarding standards. - Mentor junior engineers and contribute to career development initiatives. **Required Skills:** - 4+ years of full‑stack software development. - Proficiency in Python or Java (backend). - Experience with RESTful APIs, relational & NoSQL databases. - Familiarity with React (front‑end) and Azure services (dev‑ops, containerization). - Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and secure coding practices. - Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related field. - Active Security Clearance (SC) or readiness to obtain one. - Azure or related cloud certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
