Job title: Security Engineer
Role Summary: Deliver secure cloud, hybrid, and virtualized environments for enterprise clients. Design, deploy, and manage infrastructure spanning Azure, AWS, and VMware. Implement IAM, network segmentation, and backup/disaster recovery strategies while automating configuration to ensure compliance and resilience.
Expectations:
- Operate on a contract basis, starting immediately.
- Be fluent in German preferred.
- Demonstrate end‑to‑end experience building secure, highly available environments for large‑scale migrations and modernization projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement secure cloud architectures across Azure, AWS, and VMware, ensuring alignment with security best practices.
- Configure and maintain Azure services (Backup, Site Recovery, Resource Manager, VMs, VNETs, Storage) and orchestrate Hyper‑V clusters, System Center, OMS, and Azure Automation.
- Lead large‑scale virtualization and migration initiatives (P2V, V2V), including risk assessment, mitigation, and performance tuning.
- Develop and enforce IAM policies, network segmentation models, and access controls via API, CLI, and management portals.
- Design and implement backup, disaster recovery, encryption, and data protection strategies.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Desired State Configuration for consistent, compliant deployments.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize environment performance, availability, and security posture.
Required Skills:
- Proficient with Azure services (Backup, Site Recovery, Resource Manager, VMs, VNETs, Storage).
- Experience with Hyper‑V, System Center, OMS, Azure Automation.
- Strong background in large‑scale virtualization and migration (P2V, V2V).
- Knowledge of AWS and VMware infrastructure.
- Expertise in IAM, network segmentation, backup, disaster recovery, and encryption.
- Familiarity with IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates) and Desired State Configuration.
- Ability to design and enforce security architecture and controls across cloud and hybrid environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, VMware Certified Advanced Professional, or equivalent) preferred.
- Security certifications (CISSP, GSEC, CompTIA Security+) strongly desirable.
