**Job Title:** Infrastructure and Networks Lead
**Role Summary**
Lead the design, operation, and optimisation of the bank’s cloud‑based network infrastructure, ensuring resilience, security, and regulatory compliance across primary and disaster‑recovery regions. Work with the CTO and senior leaders to align technology strategy with business objectives, digital transformation, and regulatory requirements.
**Expectations**
- Minimum 15 years in IT infra or tech leadership, with ≥5 years senior UK banking/fintech experience.
- Proven track‑record delivering multi‑region hybrid‑cloud architectures (Azure preferred).
- Deep knowledge of UK financial services regulation (PRA/FCA, UK GDPR, DPA).
- Strong vendor, budget, and team management skills.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and execute a modern technology strategy that meets business goals and compliance standards.
- Design, deploy, and maintain core banking, digital channels, payment systems, and cloud platforms (Azure, ExpressRoute).
- Translate business and product requirements into technical specifications for cross‑functional alignment.
- Strengthen cybersecurity and risk frameworks; maintain compliance with UK GDPR, DPA, and operational resilience mandates.
- Build and enforce technology governance: risk assessments, policies, procedures, audits, and incident response.
- Monitor open‑banking and fintech trends; identify opportunities for collaboration and innovation.
- Oversee technology budgeting, resource allocation, and offshore/on‑shore staffing.
- Lead recruitment, development, and retention of infrastructure teams; promote continuous learning.
- Advise the CTO and senior leadership on tech initiatives that improve efficiency and compliance.
- Represent the bank in industry forums and working groups to influence best practices.
- Manage vendor and service‑provider relationships; ensure value for money and contractual compliance.
**Required Skills**
- Network architecture, hybrid cloud, multi‑region deployments (Azure ExpressRoute).
- Windows & Linux server administration, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, regulatory compliance.
- Experience integrating on‑premises and cloud systems for resilient, scalable platforms.
- Vendor and stakeholder management, budget stewardship.
- Project leadership; delivery of complex IT programmes on time and within budget.
- DevOps practices, IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation), containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Excellent communication, strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement; ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field; Master’s or MBA preferred.
- Professional cloud/infrastructure certifications (Azure Solutions Architect, AWS, CCNP).
- Security or risk management certification (CISSP, CCSP).
- Agile/project‑management certification (PMP, Scrum).
