Job Description
Job title: Financial Controller Role Summary: Lead financial stewardship for manufacturing operations, delivering accurate budgeting, standard costing, inventory valuation, and financial analysis to drive operational efficiency, cost control, and strategic decision‑making. Collaborate with plant, operations and supply‑chain leaders to align financial goals with production KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives. Expectations: - Provide timely, data‑driven insights to support business unit goals and strategic plans. - Demonstrate strong financial leadership, mentoring finance staff and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. - Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS, internal controls, audits, and corporate policies. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare unit budgets and 3‑year strategic plan; develop labor, material and overhead budgets in partnership with Operations. - Conduct financial analysis, ROI/NPV, and payback studies for CAPEX projects. - Produce monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, variance analyses, and KPI dashboards. - Manage standard costing systems, inventory valuation, and reporting of raw materials, WIP and finished goods. - Lead Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives; evaluate financial impact and ROI. - Oversee cash‑flow management (DSO/DPO), supplier terms and compliance. - Maintain compliance with statutory and corporate audit requirements; coordinate with internal and external auditors. - Mentor and develop finance staff; conduct performance reviews and succession planning. Required Skills: - Advanced analytical ability; proficiency in Excel and financial modeling. - Expertise in accounting principles (GAAP, IFRS) and ERP systems (must have ERP experience; IFS knowledge a plus). - Strong interpersonal skills; ability to lead cross‑functional teams and motivate staff. - Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, and process‑improvement methodologies from a financial perspective. - Experience evaluating capital investment proposals, ROI, NPV, and monitoring project financials. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or related field. - CPA designation preferred. - 6–10 years of progressive experience as a Financial Controller in a manufacturing environment.
