Job Description
**Job Title:** Data Engineer / BI Engineer (F/M) **Role Summary:** Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and databases, ensuring data quality, security, and availability for analytics and reporting. Collaborate with business stakeholders, data scientists, and BI teams to deliver data solutions that support decision‑making and machine‑learning initiatives. **Expectations:** - Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role. - Ability to work independently and solve complex technical problems. - Strong communication and teamwork skills to interact with cross‑functional teams. - Commitment to staying current with emerging data technologies and best practices. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design, build, and maintain reliable, high‑performance data pipelines (ETL/ELT). - Collect, cleanse, and transform raw data for analytical and reporting use. - Optimize database performance and ensure maximum data availability. - Partner with business units to understand data requirements and deliver tailored solutions. - Collaborate with data scientists to deploy machine‑learning models into production. - Implement and enforce data security and privacy controls throughout the data lifecycle. - Monitor pipeline health and troubleshoot issues proactively. **Required Skills:** - Strong SQL proficiency (SQL Server experience a plus). - Hands‑on experience with ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, Talend, or similar). - Knowledge of distributed data processing frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark). - Familiarity with Power BI or other BI visualization tools (plus). - Programming/scripting skills (Python, Scala, or Java). - Understanding of data modeling, warehousing, and schema design. - Ability to document processes and maintain technical specifications. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). - Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer, Google Professional Data Engineer, AWS Certified Data Analytics) are advantageous but not mandatory.
