Job Description
Job title: Automation Engineer Role Summary: Remote contract (12+ months) assignment focusing on DeltaV-based automation within a GMP‑compliant pharmaceutical environment. Provide end‑to‑end support for commissioning, qualification, and validation (C&Q) of automated equipment, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to guarantee system reliability and regulatory compliance. Expactations: • Deliver timely C&Q deliverables for new and existing automated installations. • Maintain accurate validation documentation, test plans, and protocols. • Provide on‑site technical support and training to operators and maintenance staff. • Participate in root‑cause analyses and implement corrective actions to sustain compliance. • Operate within defined project timelines and budgets, reporting status to relevant stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: 1. Design, configure, and deploy DeltaV control systems and related inter‑op components (PLCs, HMIs). 2. Execute commissioning, site acceptance testing (SAT), and qualification documentation (IQ/OQ/QC). 3. Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues in DeltaV, PLC, and HMI platforms. 4. Develop and maintain validation artifacts, change control records, and audit trails. 5. Conduct root‑cause investigations and drive corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities. 6. Train operators, technicians, and maintenance teams on system operation and safety. 7. Coordinate with engineering, quality, and operations to ensure system readiness and continuous improvement. Required Skills: - Proven, hands‑on experience with Emerson DeltaV configuration and implementation. - Strong knowledge of C&Q processes, including commissioning, qualification, and validation. - Proficiency with PLCs, HMIs, and general control system troubleshooting. - Deep understanding of GMP, GAMP 5, and other pharmaceutical regulatory frameworks. - Facility with documenting test plans, protocols, audit logs, and CAPA reports. - Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of multidisciplinary teams. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or related technical field. - Professional certification or experience in DeltaV (e.g., Emerson DeltaV Site Certification) preferred. - Familiarity with GAMP 5 guidance and GMP validation best practices.
