Job Description
Job title: SOC Analyst Junior Role Summary: Conduct real‑time monitoring, threat hunting, and incident response for network and endpoint security. Analyze logs and network traffic, coordinate with threat intelligence, and improve SOC processes. Expactations: • 1+ year experience in Information Technology. • Familiarity with US‑CERT Federal Incident Notification Guidelines. • Experience with SIEM (Splunk Enterprise, Enterprise Security, SOAR) and host‑based solutions (CrowdStrike, TrendMicro, McAfee). • Ability to perform log, network, and system forensic investigations using MITRE ATT&CK and Cyber Kill Chain. • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills with customer‑service orientation. Key Responsibilities: • Hunt for malicious activity across network and digital assets. • Respond to security incidents, conduct threat analysis, and perform payload/network packet analysis. • Generate and manage incident tickets, maintain logs, and document investigation findings. • Recommend and implement counter‑measures and mitigating controls. • Collaborate with technical and threat‑intelligence teams for predictive analysis. • Create and continuously improve SOC standard operating procedures. • Participate in root‑cause analysis and lessons‑learned sessions. Required Skills: • SIEM console monitoring and alert triage. • Log analysis from host, network, firewall, and intrusion prevention/detection sources. • Knowledge of OSI model, TCP/IP, operating systems, network protocols, system administration, and security technologies. • Familiarity with threat‑intelligence frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain). • Packet analysis tools (Wireshark) and malware analysis (optional). • Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making, and communication skills. Required Education & Certifications: • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent. • EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH). • SANS GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA), Network Forensic Analyst (GNFA), or Certified Incident Handler (GCIH).
