Job Description

**Job Title:** Co-op Student, Finance **Role Summary:** Provide operational and analytical support to the finance department, assisting with cash management, foreign exchange, accounting, reporting, and financial planning activities while ensuring adherence to internal controls. **Expectations:** - Demonstrate strong quantitative ability and attention to detail. - Communicate clearly in written and verbal form. - Work effectively under pressure in a fast‑paced environment. - Show proactive learning attitude toward finance functions. **Key Responsibilities:** - Update and reconcile global cash balances and transaction activity. - Assist with cash management, liquidity planning, and FX/gold trading support. - Coordinate with banks on trade confirmations and settlements. - Collect and organize documentation for corporate development or financing initiatives. - Maintain internal controls documentation and assess control effectiveness. - Support accounting tasks, month‑end close, audit requests, and quarterly financial reporting. - Contribute to financial analysis, quarterly forecasts, and the annual budgeting process. - Participate in ad‑hoc finance projects and assignments as required. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with finance/accounting software a plus. - Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities. - Effective written and oral communication skills. - High level of accuracy and ability to manage multiple priorities. - Basic understanding of cash management, FX, and budgeting concepts. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Currently enrolled in a post‑secondary program (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. - No specific certifications required; coursework in finance or accounting preferred.
