Job Description
**Job Title** Software Development Apprentice **Role Summary** Support the development team in designing, coding, testing, and maintaining web‑based financial wellbeing applications. Gain hands‑on experience through a structured apprenticeship program while contributing to features that empower employees to make informed financial decisions. **Expectations** - Complete an apprenticeship training plan that includes technical coursework and workplace learning. - Demonstrate a strong desire to grow as a software developer and to adapt to evolving technologies. - Commit to regular feedback, performance reviews, and continuous improvement. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Write clean, maintainable code under guidance, following project standards and best practices. 2. Participate in code reviews, debugging sessions, and collaborative problem solving. 3. Assist in creating and updating technical documentation, test plans, and user guides. 4. Contribute to the development of new features and enhancements in the company’s financial wellness platform. 5. Attend sprint meetings, stand‑ups, and other agile ceremonies to track progress and priorities. 6. Apply basic security, accessibility, and performance considerations to all deliverables. 7. Seek mentorship and proactively request learning opportunities to broaden skill set. **Required Skills** - Basic knowledge of at least one modern programming language (JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, C#). - Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, REST APIs). - Understanding of software development lifecycle and agile principles. - Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities. - Effective communication and teamwork orientation. - Willingness to learn new frameworks, libraries, and tools. **Required Education & Certifications** - High school diploma or equivalent (or current enrollment in a post‑secondary program). - Completion of a coding bootcamp, online course, or equivalent training is preferred. - No specific professional certifications required at entry level.
