Job Title: Data Analyst
Role Summary:
Analyst responsible for studying and documenting system capabilities, gathering business requirements from Program Area System Owners, and supporting project lifecycle activities. Develops test plans, conducts data analysis with Excel and SQL, models workflows, and provides reporting and dashboards using Power BI. Works within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to modernize finance and administrative systems, ensuring security and procedural compliance.
Expectations:
• 5+ years of experience in data analysis, data mining, and SQL
• 5+ years of experience in workflow and process modeling (Visio, PowerPoint)
• 5+ years of experience with the full SDLC, driving modernization initiatives
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), SharePoint, and Power BI
• Ability to document and update system procedures and protocols
• Experience working with finance program owners and subject‑matter experts
• Comfort with stakeholder communication, project status reporting, and risk management
Key Responsibilities:
• Study system capabilities and gather functional requirements for financial and administrative systems.
• Prepare, maintain, and update project documentation (plans, schedules, WBS, lessons learned).
• Schedule and facilitate stakeholder meetings; act as liaison between project team and stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress, create status reports for Finance, Operations, and IT.
• Create ticketing system work requests and support DevOps for future state workflows.
• Conduct gap analysis between current and future state to meet business needs.
• Develop and execute test plans; track outcomes and defects.
• Assist in system validation, production rollout, and software lifecycle activities.
• Develop dashboards and reporting solutions using Excel and Power BI.
• Maintain SharePoint collaboration sites and update content.
• Ensure application development standards, security requirements, and data classification compliance.
• Support risk management strategies and foster a positive project outlook.
Required Skills:
• Data analysis and data mining with Excel and SQL
• Workflow and process modeling (Visio)
• SDLC knowledge and modernizing initiatives experience
• Advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and SharePoint skills
• Power BI dashboard development
• Project management fundamentals (document management, scheduling, status reporting)
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Problem‑solving and self‑sufficiency for minor issue resolution
Required Education & Certifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Certifications in data analysis, project management, or security are advantageous but not mandatory.
