Job Description
**Job Title** Cyber Security Specialist – Incident Response & Forensics **Role Summary** Execute and lead incident response and forensic investigations across memory, disk, and log data to protect an organization’s cyber environment. Serve as the primary escalation point for CSOC/MSSP incidents, collaborate with third‑party vendors, and provide evidence‑based recommendations to enhance security posture. **Expectations** - Deliver timely, accurate incident analysis and reporting to executive management. - Maintain strict chain of custody for all evidence. - Contribute to threat intelligence, threat hunting, and automation initiatives. - Demonstrate strong communication and documentation skills across technical and non‑technical stakeholders. **Key Responsibilities** - Serve as primary contact for CSOC & MSSP incident escalations. - Engage with vendors and third parties on compromised systems. - Conduct forensic analysis of memory, disk, and log artifacts. - Perform dynamic and static malware analysis. - Manage full incident response lifecycle, including containment, eradication, and recovery. - Process and document evidence according to chain‑of‑custody protocols. - Produce incident reports and executive briefs. - Recommend preventive controls to avoid recurrence. - Assist Threat Intelligence group with threat hunting, readiness, and cyber content engineering/automation. **Required Skills** - Exceptional written and verbal communication. - Proficient with digital forensic tools (e.g., EnCase, FTK, Autopsy, Volatility). - Deep knowledge of scripting/code analysis in PowerShell, Perl, Python. - Strong understanding of malware structure and analysis techniques. - Experience with OT and PCI technologies (preferred). - Ability to work effectively in a 24/7 CSOC environment. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Services, IT Security, or related field – OR equivalent experience. - Minimum 3 years of Tier 1/2 CSOC support experience. - Minimum 3 years of incident response and forensic investigation experience. - Over 6 years total Information Security experience. - Mandatory cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH). - Preferred certifications: GCIH, GCFA, CRFS.
