Job Description
**Job Title:** Senior Software Engineer **Role Summary:** Lead the design, development, and maintenance of embedded and higher‑level software for wearable robotics. Collaborate cross‑functionally to deliver robust, high‑performance firmware and associated tools, ensuring quality through rigorous testing, code review, and Agile processes. Mentor junior staff and drive process improvements. **Expectations:** - Execute end‑to‑end software delivery for company‑wide projects. - Demonstrate advanced problem‑solving and architectural insight. - Maintain high coding standards and continuously elevate development practices. - Align with team culture, communication, and operational cadences. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Develop and maintain embedded firmware using C/C++ and Python. 2. Design, code, test, and ship new features in collaboration with hardware, research, and design teams. 3. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex software issues. 4. Contribute to system architecture and platform design decisions. 5. Conduct code reviews, enforce quality metrics, and champion best practices. 6. Own software deliverables for key company projects. 7. Lead SCRUM activities: sprint planning, backlog grooming, and task tracking. 8. Mentor and lead engineers, coop students, and interns—assigning work, facilitating pair programming, and providing constructive feedback. **Required Skills:** - Extensive experience in C/C++ and Python programming. - Proficiency in embedded software design and development (firmware, RTOS). - Familiarity with web or Android development is a plus. - Strong Git version control and CI/CD pipeline analysis. - Advanced problem‑solving, analytical, and debugging capabilities. - Excellent written and verbal communication. - Agile/SCRUM methodology experience. - Leadership aptitude—coach, train, and influence peers. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field. - Minimum 7 years of software engineering experience, including embedded contexts. - No specific certifications required, though experience with industry standards/ISO or safety‑critical development is advantageous.
