Job Description
**Job Title:** Software Engineering Intern **Role Summary:** Assist in research and development of advanced security solutions by applying software engineering practices to embedded systems, simulation tools, and prototyping environments. **Expectations:** - Highly motivated self‑starter with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. - Enrolled in a certified degree program pursuing a BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field. - Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance. **Key Responsibilities:** - Collaborate with multidisciplinary R&D teams to design, code, test, and validate software components from first‑principle analysis through system integration. - Develop and maintain code in C/C++ and Python for Windows and Linux platforms. - Convert MATLAB algorithms to optimized C/C++ code and integrate with existing systems. - Assist in embedded firmware development for microcontrollers, DSPs, or FPGAs (preferred, not required). - Utilize middleware such as Protocol Buffers for communication and data serialization. **Required Skills:** - Proficient in C/C++ and Python programming. - Experience with MATLAB and code conversion to C/C++. - Working knowledge of embedded firmware concepts (microcontrollers, DSPs, FPGAs – preferred). - Familiarity with software middleware (e.g., Protocol Buffers). - Strong analytical, debugging, and documentation skills. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Enrollment in a BS, MS, or PhD program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related discipline. - Eligibility to obtain a DoD security clearance.
