Job Description
Job Title: Technology Solutions Designer Intern/Co-op Spring 2026 Role Summary: Undergraduate engineering students design and support technology systems for commercial building projects under mentorship of licensed engineers. Focus on hands-on development of technology solutions including security, AV, and IT infrastructure. Gain technical and collaborative skills in a consulting engineering environment. Expectations: Support technology system design and documentation for new construction and renovation projects. Develop proficiency in CAD tools and design methodologies through direct project participation. Demonstrate adaptability to evolving project needs and contribute to interdisciplinary teamwork. Key Responsibilities: - Create detailed equipment layouts and one-line diagrams for building technology systems. - Assist in compiling organized drawing sets for design teams. - Conduct data collection and field verification for system requirements. - Collaborate with engineers to integrate technology systems with building performance goals. Required Skills: - Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit experience preferred. - Strong grasp of electrical principles and schematic development. - Effective written/verbal communication and problem-solving. - Microsoft Word/Excel proficiency for documentation and analysis. - Ability to work autonomously and in team environments. Required Education & Certifications: - Pursuing BSEE (Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering), sophomore/junior level. - No prior certification required; relevant coursework in electrical design and CAD tools emphasized.
