Job Description
Job title: Infrastructure Engineer Level 1 Role Summary: Support a federal government client by designing, implementing, and maintaining secure enterprise infrastructure, including virtual machines and high‑availability systems, to meet application and operational requirements. Expactations: Minimum 2 years of experience designing and implementing information systems, TS/SCI security clearance (or TS with ability to obtain SCI), Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science. Key Responsibilities: - Analyze system requirements and ensure alignment with security and integration standards. - Design, configure, and deploy virtualized infrastructure (VMs) in secure and non‑secure environments. - Implement high‑availability solutions and maintain operational processing systems for government clients. - Provide technical support to application development teams for new technologies and system requirements. - Perform troubleshooting, monitoring, and performance tuning of infrastructure components. - Maintain documentation and compliance with federal IT and security regulations. - Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate applications and infrastructure. Required Skills: - System architecture and design for enterprise environments. - Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V, etc.) and high‑availability configuration. - Network security fundamentals and implementation of secure controls. - Troubleshooting and performance optimization of hardware and software components. - Scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, etc.). - Familiarity with federal IT standards (FISMA, NIST SP 800‑53). - Strong communication and documentation abilities. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science. - TS/SCI security clearance (or TS with SCI eligibility). - (Preferred) Certifications: CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, VMware Certified Professional.
