Business Intelligence Developer
**Role Summary**
Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models to provide actionable insights for strategic and performance decision‑making. Collaborate across IT, Data & Research, and business teams to enhance BI infrastructure, ensure data accuracy, and promote an evidence‑based culture.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models using advanced DAX and SQL.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define requirements, optimise data pipelines, and improve data sharing.
- Lead small BI projects or workstreams, managing scope, timelines, and stakeholder communication.
- Implement data governance practices, including data quality checks, metadata management, and security controls.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and developers.
- Evaluate and recommend new BI tools and techniques to enhance data insight capabilities.
**Required Skills**
- Expertise in Power BI (desktop, service, dataflow) and DAX.
- Advanced SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and modelling.
- Strong data visualisation and storytelling ability.
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and privacy principles.
- Experience with data warehousing concepts (ETL/ELT).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.

**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related field.
- Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst or Power BI Expert (preferred).
- Valid DBS check (basic) and fitness‑to‑practise clearance if applicable.
