**Job Title:** Senior Backend Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Design, build, and maintain a high‑performance, scalable cloud backend for a smart wearable platform. Own end‑to‑end feature development, manage large time‑series data streams, and deliver secure RESTful APIs for mobile apps, internal tools, and third‑party integrations.
**Expectations:**
- 5+ years of professional backend development experience.
- Proven ability to design and operate data‑intensive, event‑driven systems.
- Strong independent work ethic combined with effective collaboration in Agile teams.
- Excellent problem‑solving, debugging, and communication skills.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Architect and implement server‑side solutions using Python, TypeScript, and AWS (Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, etc.).
- Develop and optimize high‑throughput REST APIs for ingesting and retrieving wearable time‑series data.
- Lead platform‑wide features from concept through deployment (e.g., gamification engine, wearable app store backend, partner API).
- Monitor performance, diagnose bottlenecks, and ensure reliability, security, and scalability.
- Support and enhance internal admin portal together with front‑end developers.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, provide clear status updates, and collaborate with mobile developers, designers, and PMs.
**Required Skills:**
- Python and/or TypeScript in production environments.
- Hands‑on experience with AWS services, especially serverless architectures.
- Deep understanding of microservices, system design patterns, and high‑availability principles.
- Expertise in designing secure, high‑performance RESTful APIs.
- Experience handling large, complex, time‑series datasets.
- Proficiency with Git and Agile development workflows.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Relevant AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus but not mandatory.
