**Job Title:** Software Developer III
**Role Summary:**
Remote senior‑level backend engineer focused on designing, building, and maintaining secure, scalable integration microservices on AWS. Primary work with Node.js (Java/Python a plus) to connect enterprise systems (ERP, SCM, CRM, eCommerce). Collaboration with distributed teams in EST/CST time zones.
**Expectations:**
- Full‑time (40 hrs/week) US‑based, preferably EST for overlap.
- Independent work authorization (W2 or C2H, no visa sponsorship).
- Strong communication and teamwork across geographies.
- Adherence to SLA‑driven production support and code quality standards.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design, develop, and maintain backend APIs and microservices (Node.js; Java/Python exposure).
- Deploy services using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, S3, ECS, Glue, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, etc.
- Ensure performance, reliability, cost‑efficiency, and security (IAM, Secrets Manager, KMS).
- Write and update HLD/LLD and technical documentation.
- Implement monitoring/tracing (CloudWatch, Dynatrace, Splunk, AWS X‑Ray).
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CodePipeline).
- Apply Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, CDK, Serverless Framework).
- Conduct automated testing (Mocha, Jest, mocking tools).
- Participate in code reviews via GitHub, track work in Jira, and resolve production issues within SLAs.
**Required Skills:**
- 5–7 years backend development, primarily Node.js (Java/Python a plus).
- Hands‑on experience with AWS services: Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, S3, ECS, Glue, EventBridge, SQS, SNS.
- Proficiency in DevOps/CI‑CD practices and observability tools (Dynatrace, Splunk, CloudWatch).
- Solid understanding of security concepts: IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager.
- IaC experience (Serverless Framework, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation).
- GitHub source control and Jira Agile workflow expertise.
- Excellent verbal/written communication; ability to work with distributed teams.
**Preferred Skills:**
- Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS Fargate.
- Experience with enterprise integration flows (ERP, Order‑to‑Cash, AR).
- Python microservice development or Generative AI (RAG/MCP) projects.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Developer – Associate) preferred but not mandatory.
