Job Description
Job Title: Android Reverse Engineer (Remote – USA) Role Summary: Reverse engineer Android malware, conduct static and dynamic analyses, develop detection signatures, and produce actionable reports for non‑technical stakeholders. Expactations: - Minimum 5 years’ experience in Android development and reverse engineering. - Current residence in the United States. - Proven ability to handle multiple concurrent investigations. - Strong communication skills for writing and reviewing technical documents. Key Responsibilities: - De‑compile, unpack, and reverse engineer malicious Android applications and SDKs. - Perform static and dynamic analysis of APKs, native ELF binaries, and related mobile code. - Build static and dynamic signatures for malware, PUPs, and APTs. - Draft comprehensive reports for non‑technical audiences and review peer reports. - Identify and recommend improvements to detection tools, automation pipelines, and security policies. - Conduct code reviews to detect security policy violations, vulnerabilities, or improper coding practices. Required Skills: - Hands‑on expertise with Java, Kotlin, JavaScript, Flutter, and other mobile languages. - Proficiency in reverse engineering tools: Jadx, Ghidra, Frida, IDA Pro, Burp Suite, and similar. - Experience reverse engineering native ELF binaries. - Strong understanding of Android security mechanisms and mobile app store policies. - Ability to analyze source code, detect tampering techniques, and comprehend sophisticated malware behaviors. - Excellent written communication for translating complex findings into clear, actionable narratives. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred. - Relevant security certifications (e.g., CEH, OSCP, or equivalent) are a plus but not mandatory.
