**Job title**
Clinical Deputy Manager
**Role Summary**
Provide leadership and operational support to the nursing and care team within a residential care setting, ensuring high‑quality, person‑centred service delivery, compliance with regulatory standards, and continuous professional development.
**Expectations**
• Deliver consistent, high‑standard care aligned with individual resident needs and contractual obligations.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of clinical practice, infection control, medication management, and relevant health‑care guidelines.
• Support the Home Manager in strategic service planning, quality improvement, and compliance with CQC and NMC requirements.
• Lead, mentor and supervise nursing staff, fostering a safe and collaborative team culture.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, allied health professionals, and regulatory bodies.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Support Home Manager in strategy development and implementation of service changes.
2. Lead the nursing and care team: daily supervision, formal clinical supervision, and mentoring of new or under‑developed staff.
3. Liaise with GPs, specialist nurses, and local services to coordinate resident care and referrals.
4. Ensure delivery of care meets infection prevention, wound care, catheter management, and related clinical standards.
5. Oversee medicines management, assessing colleague competence and supporting safe practice.
6. Maintain and update training programmes, ensuring all staff comply with statutory and organisational learning requirements.
7. Manage handover systems, safeguarding procedures, and documentation to support safe transitions and data protection.
8. Conduct or chair nurse team meetings, capturing and disseminating minutes.
9. Provide resident and family education on care plans within Caldicott and data‑protection frameworks.
10. Assist in meeting regulatory, contract, and good‑practice standards; participate in continuous professional development to satisfy NMC PREP and registration requirements.

- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or equivalent) is preferred but not mandatory.
