Job Title: Junior DevOps Engineer
Role Summary: Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable cloud and on‑premises infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tooling for a subsurface evaluation product suite. Work closely with software developers in an Agile environment to ensure reliable deployment and operation of applications.
Expectations: Self‑motivated, collaborative, and proactive learner; able to troubleshoot deployments, prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced setting, and seamlessly integrate application code with infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure for scalable, resilient applications.
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment.
- Develop and maintain IaC scripts (Terraform) and automation scripts (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Create monitoring, logging, backup, and incident response tooling.
- Work with developers to integrate application code with infrastructure.
- Monitor performance, availability, and reliability; troubleshoot issues across environments.
- Enforce cloud security policies and practices.
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies and professional documentation.
Required Skills
- 2+ years experience with distributed systems in on‑premises or private cloud environments.
- Proficiency with Terraform and IaC best practices.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and processes.
- Strong scripting in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Networking fundamentals (firewalls, routing, WAF).
- Familiarity with monitoring/alerting tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Experience with a public cloud provider (AWS or Azure).
Preferred Skills
- Containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- GitOps workflows and tools.
- Configuration management (Ansible).
- Virtualization and storage fundamentals (VMware, Hyper‑V, etc.).
- Infrastructure security concepts (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, secrets management, encryption).
- SOC2 compliance awareness.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
