Job Description
**Job Title** Environmental Quality Engineer (M/F) **Role Summary** Partner with senior associates and an architect‑engineer to develop and implement the agency’s environmental strategy, focusing on 20th‑century heritage transformation. Provide expertise across design, construction, and post‑occupancy phases to embed sustainable practices and meet local/national environmental certifications. **Expectations** - Deliver comprehensive environmental assessments and technical studies. - Guide project teams through environmentally responsible choices, balancing performance, cost, and regulatory compliance. - Drive data collection, analysis, and knowledge sharing to build internal expertise. **Key Responsibilities** - Conduct QEB studies: site environmental analysis, energy strategy, dynamic thermal simulations, daylight analysis, life‑cycle assessment (global and per‑lot), envelope performance, air tightness, thermal bridges, etc. - Perform energy diagnostics and building physics evaluations on existing structures. - Create graphical representations of bioclimatic and energy concepts. - Stay updated on technical and regulatory developments; enrich the agency’s environmental material database (generic, reused, bio‑based, geo‑based). - Lead processes and studies required for environmental labels and certifications. - Support Design‑Engineering Team (DET) during construction, handover, and operation, providing feedback, performance evaluation, and verification. - Measure and monitor project performance to build internal knowledge on building physics; pilot data capitalization across projects. - Disseminate expertise internally and externally through training, documentation, and knowledge exchange. **Required Skills** - Advanced knowledge in environmental quality of buildings, life‑cycle analysis, thermal dynamics, daylighting, and building physics. - Proficiency in architectural tools: AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Suite, Office. - Mastery of environmental simulation software: IES VE, Dialux, VIZCAD, or equivalent for thermal, daylight, and life‑cycle studies. - Strong analytical, project‑management, and communication skills. - Ability to interpret and apply local/national environmental regulations and certification requirements. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Building Science, Architectural Engineering, or related field. - Equivalent professional qualification in building environmental quality accepted. - Certifications in energy or environmental assessment (e.g., LCA, LEED, BREEAM) are advantageous.
