Job Title: Linux Administrator (On-site)
Role Summary:
Lead the administration, performance tuning, and automation of Linux-based HPC and semiconductor design infrastructure. Authority over on‑prem and Azure environments, implementing operational standards, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure‑as‑code practices.
Expectations:
- 6+ month contract, 100% on-site.
- Minimum 8 years of Linux systems administration, with 3+ years in a leadership or mentoring capacity.
- Extensive experience with HPC clusters, job schedulers (Slurm, PBS/LSF, SGE), and high‑performance filesystems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Harden, upgrade, and administer Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Alma/Rocky) across build farms and HPC nodes.
- Operate and optimize HPC clusters, manage job schedulers, and ensure efficient workload scheduling.
- Provision and configure infrastructure using Ansible or equivalent IaC tools.
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure changes, managing Git workflows and release hygiene.
- Develop Python and Bash utilities for monitoring, remediation, and capacity planning.
- Integrate on‑prem clusters with Azure (VNet, ExpressRoute/S2S VPN, Arc, image management).
- Monitor and alert with Prometheus/Grafana; drive SLOs, RCA processes.
- Lead incident response, root‑cause analysis, patching, and vulnerability remediation.
- Mentor junior admins, author runbooks, and establish operating standards.
Required Skills:
- Advanced Linux administration (RHEL/CentOS/Alma/Rocky).
- Proficiency in HPC operations, job schedulers (Slurm, PBS/LSF).
- Strong scripting in Python and Bash.
- Expertise in Git-based CI/CD (GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
- IaC/automation tools: Ansible, Terraform, Cloud‑Init.
- Azure hybrid cloud fundamentals: VNets, ExpressRoute/S2S VPN, Arc, storage, images.
- Experience with HPC storage/file systems (NFS, Lustre/GPFS).
- LDAP/AD integration, security hardening, patching, and compliance at scale.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
