Job Description
Job title: B1 Aircraft Engineer Role Summary: Responsible for planning, supervising and certifying base maintenance activities on commercial aircraft, ensuring compliance with CAA Part‑66 and company procedures, while maintaining high standards of airworthiness, documentation accuracy, and safety culture. Expectations: * Execute and certify base maintenance for commercial airframes (Boeing 737NG, Airbus A320 family). * Manage a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring timely completion of scheduled checks. * Uphold safety, quality and regulatory compliance in all work. * Continuously enhance maintenance processes and technical skills. Key Responsibilities: * Perform and certify base maintenance actions in line with approved data and regulatory requirements. * Exercise certifying privileges under CAA Part‑66 and company approvals. * Supervise, allocate and review tasks to maintenance crews; resolve discrepancies in work packages. * Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with documentation standards. * Collaborate with Quality, Safety and Compliance teams to support audits and corrective actions. * Promote a proactive safety culture: report occurrences, identify hazards, and support continuous improvement. * Attend and contribute to type courses, training and professional development. * Recommend improvements to maintenance processes, tooling and work practices. Required Skills: * Strong technical knowledge of commercial airframe maintenance (Boeing 737NG, Airbus A320). * Leadership and team‑management capabilities in a base maintenance setting. * Excellent communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills. * Ability to read and interpret technical documents, work packages and maintenance manuals. * Collaborative approach to quality, safety and compliance. Required Education & Certifications: * UK CAA Part‑66 B1 or B2 license (essential). * Current type rating on Boeing 737NG and/or Airbus A320 (preferred). * Valid Human Factors, EWIS and SFAR 88 training. * Understanding of CAMO principles and maintenance data systems. * Right to work in the United Kingdom.
