Job title: Senior Cloud Engineer
Role Summary: Lead architect and operations specialist for a multi‑account AWS environment, focusing on infrastructure, networking, security, and serverless solutions. Provide expert guidance to development and security teams, and drive automation, observability, and platform reliability.
Expactations:
- Significant experience (5+ years) in core infrastructure, networking, networking, security, and patch management, transitioned to cloud platform ownership.
- Proficient with AWS services; deep knowledge of networking, IAM, VPC, security groups, ACM, KMS, and serverless resources.
- Strong automation skills using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Familiar with observability and logging tools (CloudWatch, CloudTrail, OpenSearch, Grafana, Kinesis).
- Up‑to‑date with AWS certifications (e.g., Architect, Security, DevOps).
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable multi‑account AWS architectures.
- Build and refine IaC pipelines, automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot networking and security components.
- Develop and enforce security best practices, including patching strategy and compliance controls.
- Implement observability solutions for performance, logging, and incident response.
- Collaborate with service teams to enable cloud‑native development and integration.
- Continuous improvement of infrastructure resilience, cost efficiency, and operational excellence.
Required Skills:
- AWS networking (VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect), IAM, security groups, NACLs.
- Automation tools: Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible.
- Observability: CloudWatch, CloudTrail, OpenSearch, Grafana, Kinesis.
- Strong scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, CodePipeline, GitHub Actions).
- Security fundamentals: encryption, key management, compliance frameworks.
- Sound troubleshooting, incident handling, and root‑cause analysis.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred).
- AWS Certifications: Professional‑level (Architect, Security, DevOps) or equivalent.
