**Job Title:** Research Manager – Mixed Methods Research & Evaluation (Social)
**Role Summary:**
Lead and manage the delivery of mixed‑methods research and evaluation projects for a diverse portfolio of public service and third‑sector clients. Oversee project design, data collection, analysis, reporting, and dissemination within a 6‑month fixed‑term, fully remote contract based in the UK.
**Expectations:**
- Immediate availability and commitment to a 6‑month contract.
- Proven track record delivering both quantitative and qualitative research projects, ideally in evaluation settings.
- Strong ability to manage multiple client projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Design, plan, and execute research and evaluation studies for health agencies, social housing providers, charities, local authorities, and central government clients.
2. Manage end‑to‑end project life cycles: scope definition, methodology selection, sampling, data collection, data management, and analytic strategy.
3. Produce high‑quality, evidence‑based reports, executive summaries, and actionable recommendations tailored to stakeholder audiences.
4. Coordinate with cross‑functional teams (e.g., data analysts, field staff, client liaisons) to ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
5. Maintain rigorous documentation, comply with relevant ethical approvals, and uphold data protection regulations.
6. Provide weekly status updates, dashboards, and risk mitigation plans to stakeholders and senior management.
**Required Skills:**
- Proficiency in mixed‑methods research design and execution, including robust survey and interview techniques.
- Advanced quantitative analysis (e.g., SPSS, Stata, R, or Python) and qualitative analysis (e.g., NVivo, ATLAS.ti).
- Project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Trello) and strong timeline & budget monitoring capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with experience presenting findings to diverse audiences.
- Ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into practical recommendations.
- Familiarity with UK public sector research ethics and data protection (GDPR).
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Social Sciences, Public Health, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Relevant certification in project management (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) or research methodology is an advantage.
