Tech Lead, DevOps Engineer
**Role Summary**
Lead the design, implementation, and operation of a global, multi‑region Azure platform built on Kubernetes and service mesh. Own the long‑term Infrastructure & DevOps roadmap, drive architectural decisions, mentor the engineering team, and champion automation, reliability, and operational excellence.
**Expectations**
- 12‑15 years of senior infrastructure DevOps or SRE experience.
- Proven leadership in engineering roadmaps, strategic decisions, and cross‑team collaboration.
- Comfortable with rapid iteration, agile practices, and on‑call rotation.
- Continuous‑learning mindset; experience with generative AI tools to improve workflows.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Define and deliver a multi‑year roadmap for scalable, highly available infrastructure.
- Architect active‑active, multi‑region Azure deployments with Kubernetes, microservices, and service meshes.
- Design and implement IaC and CaC using Terraform, CDK, Packer, Atlantis, and GitOps via Argo CD.
- Build CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or comparable platforms.
- Develop automated fail‑over, self‑healing, and metrics‑driven deployment strategies.
- Lead incident response improvements, observability, and reliability enhancements.
- Evaluate and pilot emerging technologies, including AI‑enhanced engineering tools.
- Serve as a technical ambassador, influencing system‑wide patterns and best practices.
**Required Skills**
- Azure (high‑availability, multi‑region patterns)
- Kubernetes, service mesh (Istio/Linkerd)
- Advanced IaC (Terraform, CDK, Packer), CaC, and GitOps (Argo CD)
- CI/CD tooling (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
- Networking, routing, distributed systems, and modern cloud architecture
- Incident management, observability, and reliability engineering
- Strong communication, mentorship, and consensus‑building abilities
- Experience with AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor) for engineering productivity
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Professional certifications preferred: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, Terraform Associate, or similar.
