**Job title:** Cloud Infrastructure Procurement Expert
**Role Summary:**
Act as a senior procurement consultant to guide the selection, acquisition, and implementation of cloud infrastructure and observability tools for a medium‑to‑large enterprise. Provide expert market research, vendor evaluation, and decision‑support for solutions such as Grafana, Splunk, Datadog, and other leading platforms.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver actionable procurement insights within an hourly consulting engagement.
- Leverage proven experience from previous procurement projects for cloud observability solutions in a company of 1,000+ employees.
- Collaborate closely with executives, IT, and finance teams to align procurement strategy with business objectives and compliance standards.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct comprehensive market research on leading cloud observability/infrastructure platforms.
- Evaluate vendor packages, feature sets, pricing models, and contractual terms.
- Support executive and procurement teams in decision‑making, risk assessment, and opportunity sizing.
- Develop and maintain procurement roadmaps, cost models, and ROI analyses.
- Draft RFPs, RFQs, and bid evaluation frameworks.
- Facilitate vendor negotiations, contract terms, and service level agreements.
- Monitor market trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes affecting cloud procurement.
**Required Skills:**
- Deep knowledge of cloud observability and infrastructure solutions (Grafana, Splunk, Datadog, etc.).
- Proven procurement experience in medium‑to‑large enterprises (1,000+ employees).
- Strong analytical and quantitative assessment capabilities.
- Excellent stakeholder communication, presentation, and influence skills.
- Contract negotiation and vendor management proficiency.
- Familiarity with procurement standards and best practices.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Professional procurement certifications such as CIPS, SAP, CCDP, or equivalent.
- IT or cloud‑related certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CompTIA Cloud+) optional but beneficial.
