Job Description: Job Title: Lecturer in Health and Social Care Role Summary: Deliver high‑quality, learner‑centered teaching and assessment for Level 3 and potentially higher Health and Social Care programmes. Support student achievement and contribute to academic quality assurance processes. Expectations: - Provide engaging lectures, seminars, and workshops in health and social care. - Prepare lesson plans, learning materials, and assessments in line with awarding body standards. - Develop student academic, professional, and employability skills. - Conduct formative and summative assessments, give timely feedback, and maintain accurate records. - Participate in verification, standardisation, curriculum reviews, and staff development. - Uphold safeguarding, equality, and data protection policies. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver and assess taught courses for Level 3 Health and Social Care. - Design and update course materials and assessment tools. - Provide student support, mentoring, and career guidance. - Maintain assessment records and produce timely reports. - Participate in internal quality assurance, standardisation meetings, and curriculum review. - Engage in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development. - Ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality, and data protection requirements. Required Skills: - Excellent verbal and written communication. - Strong organisational and time‑management abilities. - Proficiency with learning management systems and general IT. - Inclusive, student‑centred teaching and assessment. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Required Education & Certifications: - Degree in Health and Social Care or a related discipline. - Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, DET, or equivalent) or willingness to obtain one. - Assessing qualification (e.g., CAVA). - Experience teaching or assessing at Level 3 or above in Health and Social Care. Desirable but not essential: - Experience with OTHM or other UK awarding bodies. - Experience in blended or online learning delivery.
