Job Description
**Job Title** Assistant Physician & PHC (Nephrology Dialysis) **Role Summary** Provide clinical support to a full‑time nephrology and dialysis team, delivering patient care in in‑patient, outpatient, peritoneal and home haemodialysis settings. Operate a dedicated dialysis block, perform catheter insertions and ultrasound‑guided interventions, and coordinate multidisciplinary care with radiology, surgery, cardiology, intensive care, internal medicine, infectious disease, and transplant partners. **Expectations** - Deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based nephrology care. - Operate effectively within a 60% PHC schedule, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. - Maintain strict adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements in dialysis and transplant preparation. - Foster continuous communication with patients, families, and allied health staff to optimize treatment outcomes. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Execute dialysis procedures (hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, home dialysis) and manage patient transitions between modalities. 2. Insert and manage simple and long‑term haemodialysis catheters; perform ultrasound guidance for FAV placement and renal biopsies. 3. Conduct patient assessments, monitor therapeutic response, and adjust dialysis prescriptions. 4. Coordinate with vascular surgery, interventional radiology, cardiology, cardiac surgery, and other specialists for invasive procedures. 5. Liaise with transplant units (CHU Grenoble, CHU Lyon) to facilitate patient evaluation and pre‑transplant preparation. 6. Maintain accurate clinical documentation, treatment plans, and dialysis logs in compliance with legal and institutional standards. 7. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, protocol development, and multidisciplinary rounds. 8. Provide education and support for patients and families regarding home dialysis management and self‑care. **Required Skills** - Proficiency in haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis protocols. - Competence in central venous catheter insertion and ultrasound guidance. - Knowledge of renal pathophysiology and transplant prerequisites. - Strong inter‑professional communication and teamwork. - Ability to manage complex patient cases in an acute setting. - Organizational skills for scheduling, documentation, and resource coordination. - Commitment to patient safety, infection control, and quality standards. **Required Education & Certifications** - Medical degree (Doctor of Medicine or equivalent). - Valid medical license to practice. - Completion of a nephrology or dialysis rotation (preferably within a hospital setting). - Certified in ultrasound use for vascular access or in‑house training deemed sufficient. - Background in clinical research and quality improvement is an advantage.
