Job title: Human Resources Intern Role Summary: Provide hands‑on support across HR functions for the Loading Business Unit, including process improvement, employee engagement initiatives, and recruitment activities. Actively collect and analyze data, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and assist in implementing solutions that enhance employee experience and operational efficiency. Expactations: Work part‑time (2–3 days per week) with flexibility during the academic year. Engage with employees at all levels, conduct interviews and engagement sessions, and present findings to stakeholders. Complete tasks independently while collaborating with department partners. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HR policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct needs analyses and gather data to identify process improvement opportunities. - Facilitate employee interviews and engagement sessions to capture insights. - Support design and implementation of HR process improvement initiatives. - Analyze data trends and measure initiative effectiveness. - Partner with other departments to develop responsive programs. - Plan and lead employee engagement events and projects. - Prepare and present findings and recommendations to stakeholders. - Participate in job shadows and informational sessions across functions. - Assist with full‑cycle recruitment: prescreening, scheduling interviews, coordinating with hiring managers. - Maintain strong relationships across the organization. Job Title: Thermal Processing Intern Role Summary: Support the Operations team in developing, testing, and optimizing heat‑treatment processes and metallurgical investigations, while generating data‑driven insights and documentation to enhance process control and quality. Expectations: - Work independently and collaboratively to meet project milestones. - Maintain high standards of accuracy, safety, and quality. - Communicate findings clearly in written reports and verbal presentations. - Prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively. Key Responsibilities: - Design and evaluate new low‑pressure carburizing recipes in the LPC furnace. - Conduct load verification tests on production samples using standard metallurgical lab equipment. - Perform depth measurements, microstructure rating, and other quantitative assessments. - Implement and document system accuracy tests (SAT) for key equipment. - Troubleshoot quality and process issues, providing root‑cause analysis. - Develop work instructions for induction harden, salt bath, and carburizing processes. - Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. Required Skills: - Strong analytical and data‑analysis capabilities (Excel, statistical tools). - Proficiency in written and verbal communication. - Problem‑solving, critical thinking, and creative resourcefulness. - Organizational and time‑management skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team.
