**Job Title**
AI Research Intern, PhD (Part‑time)
**Role Summary**
Part‑time, 8‑month internship supporting the AI & Innovation team. Conduct research and build prototypes of LLM‑driven autonomous agents to enhance enterprise sustainability and compliance solutions. Deliver experimental results, integrate prototypes with internal data systems, and collaborate with ML engineers and product owners.
**Expectations**
- Commit ~20 hours per week for the internship duration.
- Produce research reports, technical memos, and demo presentations.
- Design, implement, and evaluate scalable LLM agent prototypes.
- Follow best practices for AI alignment, observability, and production readiness.
- Communicate findings clearly to multidisciplinary stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Research and prototype LLM‑based agent architectures (task decomposition, reasoning, collaboration).
- Build and test proof‑of‑concept AI systems using open‑source or proprietary LLMs.
- Create experiment pipelines to assess model behavior, safety, and reliability.
- Develop Python backend components (prompt chains, vector stores, evaluation tools).
- Integrate prototypes with internal APIs and data platforms to emulate real enterprise workflows.
- Work with ML engineers and product teams to define success metrics and transition viable prototypes toward production.
- Document research outcomes and present results internally.
**Required Skills**
- Advanced Python programming; experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow or similar ML frameworks.
- Proficiency with LLM agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, DSPy, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel).
- Experience with vector databases (FAISS, Chroma, Pinecone, Milvus) and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation pipelines.
- Deep understanding of LLM internals, prompting, fine‑tuning, and evaluation.
- Ability to design experiments, analyze data, and communicate results.
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS) and MLOps/LLMOps workflows is a plus.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Currently enrolled in a PhD program (minimum 3 years completed) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, or a closely related field.
- No specific certifications required; coursework in deep learning, reinforcement learning, information retrieval, or multi‑agent systems is strongly valued.
