Job Title: Commercial Solicitor Role Summary: Provide expert legal counsel on a wide spectrum of commercial matters across diverse sectors such as information technology, intellectual property, branding, data protection, agency and distribution, advertising, and franchising. Deliver high‑quality legal advice and support to clients, ensuring compliance, mitigating risk, and fostering client relationships. Expectations: - Deliver comprehensive legal services in a client‑focused environment. - Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of commercial law, regulatory developments, and sector‑specific issues. - Work independently and collaboratively within a flexible hybrid schedule. - Uphold professional standards and confidentiality. - Demonstrate strong communication, negotiation, and project‑management skills. Key Responsibilities: - Advise clients on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts (IT/technology, IP, branding, distribution, advertising, franchising). - Provide guidance on data protection compliance and regulatory matters. - Offer strategic counsel on intellectual property protection and licensing. - Assess and manage commercial risks, ensuring legal compliance across all client engagements. - Support business development through legal expertise that enhances client relationships and identifies cross‑selling opportunities. - Prepare concise legal opinions, memoranda, and reports for clients and senior management. - Coordinate with external counsel and internal stakeholders on complex transactions. - Keep accurate and organized case files and documentation. Required Skills: - Expertise in commercial contract law and related regulatory frameworks. - Strong analytical, drafting, and negotiation capabilities. - Proficiency in IP, data protection, agency, and distribution law. - Excellent client‑service orientation and communication skills. - Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently. - Detail‑focused and organized, with strong documentation practices. - Tech‑savvy and adept at using legal research tools and client‑management systems. Required Education & Certifications: - Qualified lawyer with admission as a solicitor (or equivalent) in England and Wales. - Solicitors Regulation Authority registered or a qualified legal professional with similar standing. - Relevant postgraduate qualification or ongoing professional development in commercial or corporate law preferred.
