Job Description
**Job Title** DIRECTOR – COMPLIANCE, ASPIRUS HEALTH PLAN **Role Summary** Lead the Health Plan’s regulatory compliance function, designing and implementing policies that meet all applicable laws, regulations, and internal standards. Oversee HIPAA compliance and corporate information security, manage the compliance team, and serve as the primary liaison with regulators and auditors. **Expectations** - Guide the organization in meeting all health‑plan regulatory requirements. - Maintain robust HIPAA and information‑security practices. - Direct a multidisciplinary compliance team and coordinate cross‑department initiatives. - Respond to regulatory inquiries and audit findings promptly. **Key Responsibilities** - Develop, update, and enforce compliance programs for health‑plan operations. - Monitor evolving federal and state health‑care regulations, assessing impact on the Plan. - Ensure all plans and procedures align with HIPAA, privacy laws, and access control requirements. - Oversee corporate information‑security policies and controls. - Lead audits, risk assessments, and corrective action plans. - Manage compliance staff, including hiring, training, and performance reviews. - Advise senior leadership on regulatory strategy and risk mitigation. - Represent the organization in regulatory inspections, hearings, and investigations. - Maintain accurate compliance documentation and reporting systems. **Required Skills** - Strong knowledge of health‑insurance regulation and HIPAA privacy/security requirements. - Proven leadership in compliance program development and staff management. - Analytical skill to assess complex regulatory landscapes. - Excellent written and oral communication for reporting to executives and regulators. - Project‑management ability to coordinate cross‑functional initiatives. - Ability to travel between Madison and Wausau as needed. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business Administration, or a related field. - Minimum 3–5 years of compliance experience in the health‑insurance or health‑care sector. - Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between Madison and Wausau. ---
