Job Description
Job title: Systems Engineer Role Summary: Lead end‑to‑end system engineering for regulated products, ensuring client requirements, industry standards, and internal processes are met. Serve as technical advisor to clients, drive risk analysis, certification, and testing integration, and support design changes and post‑mortem reviews. Expectations: - Deliver high‑quality system engineering within timeframe and budget. - Maintain rigorous compliance with applicable standards. - Communicate clearly with cross‑functional teams and clients. - Continuously improve processes and contribute to innovation. Key Responsibilities: - Act as technical expert for client engagement. - Analyze client and industry requirements; validate design decisions. - Create compliance matrix and technical requirement documents. - Perform risk assessments (hazard analysis, FMEA) with design team. - Develop and oversee test plans, coordinate with certification team. - Participate in post‑mortem analysis and capture lessons learned. - Manage design changes on existing products. - Support project life‑cycle processes (PDS) and cross‑disciplinary reviews. Required Skills: - Minimum 5 years product development in a regulated industry. - Multidisciplinary engineering knowledge: mechanical (drawings), electrical (schematics), software (firmware) and system integration. - Strong risk‑analysis and mitigation skills. - Proficiency in documentation, test planning, and certification processes. - Excellent communication in French and English (written & oral). - Able to collaborate across engineering disciplines and drive consensus. Optional Superior Skills: - Electrical circuit design and microcontroller programming. - Experience with ALTIUM, GIT, SolidWorks. - Knowledge of aerospace (AS‑9100, DO‑178, DO‑160) or military (MIL‑STD‑810, MIL‑HDBK‑217) or medical (IEC 60601‑1, IEC 62304) standards. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, Aerospace Engineering or related field. - Additional 5 years experience as a system engineer, certification or validation specialist is a plus. - Membership in professional engineering council (e.g., OIQ) is advantageous.
