Job Description
**Job Title** DevOps Application Developer (Hybrid) **Role Summary** Collaborate with the Digital Engineering Department to design, implement, and maintain secure, automated infrastructure for high‑performance computing environments. Work within Agile teams, managing CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure code to enable frequent, reliable deployments across bare‑metal, virtualized, and containerized platforms. Provide technical demonstrations and support to internal and external stakeholders. **Expectations** - Deliver end‑to‑end DevOps solutions that meet security and performance standards. - Demonstrate self‑management with minimal supervision while coordinating with cross‑functional teams. - Handle debugging and proactive troubleshooting to prevent system issues. - Maintain documentation and communicate progress and risks effectively. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Design and automate infrastructure using scripting (Ansible/Puppet). 2. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Git, Bitbucket, GitLab) for infrastructure code deployments. 3. Configure and optimize compute resources, networks, and virtualized/container environments. 4. Implement monitoring solutions (Splunk, ELK, Prometheus). 5. Manage security configurations (Palo Alto firewall, VMware/ESXi, VirtualBox). 6. Collaborate on risk assessment, issue resolution, and design solutions for daily project activities. 7. Present technical demonstrations to internal teams and occasionally external customers. **Required Skills** - Proficiency in DevOps tools and practices. - Linux system administration and virtualization fundamentals. - Infrastructure automation using Ansible or Puppet. - Experience with CI/CD pipeline creation and management. - Knowledge of container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). - Strong troubleshooting and problem‑identification abilities. - Effective written and verbal communication. **Preferred Skills** - Monitoring tools (Splunk, ELK stack, Prometheus). - Virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi, VirtualBox). - Network firewall configuration (Palo Alto). - Version control with Git/Bitbucket/GitLab. **Required Education & Certifications** - Associate’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. - Minimum 2 years of relevant DevOps or system administration experience. - U.S. citizenship and successful completion of a government security investigation required.
