Job Title: Manager – Project Finance
Role Summary:
Lead and manage a portfolio of financial modelling projects for large-scale infrastructure and energy clients. Design, build, and validate complex project finance models to support strategic decision‑making, ensuring accuracy, robustness, and alignment with client objectives.
Expectations:
- Deliver high‑quality financial models on time and within scope.
- Mentor and develop junior modelers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Drive business development by creating client pitches, leading calls, and building long‑term relationships.
- Champion model integrity through rigorous sensitivity analysis, documentation, and adherence to industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own end‑to‑end project delivery: plan timelines, allocate resources, and ensure on‑budget completion.
- Construct and optimise Excel‑based project finance models, incorporating capital structures, debt covenants, and cash‑flow projections.
- Conduct stress testing, scenario analysis, and sensitivity studies to validate assumptions and outcomes.
- Produce comprehensive documentation: model logic, assumptions, methodology, and audit trails.
- Review commercial documents, contracts, and financial statements to integrate accurate data into models.
- Lead and coach a small team of modelers, providing technical guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (legal, tax, engineering) to refine model inputs and assumptions.
- Develop and present model insights to clients and internal stakeholders, translating technical findings into actionable business recommendations.
- Contribute to the evolution of modelling tools, templates, and best‑practice frameworks.
Required Skills:
- 4–6 years of experience in project finance, infrastructure, or large advisory/ corporate finance roles.
- Strong Excel proficiency (advanced functions, VBA, macros, data tables).
- Deep understanding of project finance concepts: debt structuring, risk allocation, IRR, NPV, cash‑flow modeling, and financial covenants.
- Familiarity with FAST (Financial Analysis Standard for Technology) modeling is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and quantitative reasoning abilities.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex models to non‑technical audiences.
- Proven leadership and team‑management experience.
- Independent work ethic with the capacity to thrive in a remote, distributed environment.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or related numerate discipline.
- Post‑graduate qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related field (e.g., MBA, MSc Finance) is desirable.
- Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA) or equivalent preferred.
- Certification in project finance or advanced financial modelling (e.g., CFA, FRM, Certified Project Finance Analyst) is a plus.
