Job Title: Senior Backend Developer
Job Description: Job Title: Senior Backend Developer Role Summary: Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable, secure, and cost-effective backend systems that power mobile gaming experiences. Own technical architecture, mentor junior engineers, and drive continuous improvement. Expactations: Deliver high‑quality backend solutions that meet performance, reliability, and cost targets while ensuring alignment with product, analytics, and development teams. Serve as the escalation point for complex infrastructure issues and uphold rigorous code quality standards. Key Responsibilities: - Own the end‑to‑end lifecycle of complex backend systems and infrastructure. - Design, develop, and deploy internal tools from concept to production. - Architect scalable, secure, and cost‑effective backend solutions aligned with business needs. - Identify and address performance, reliability, and cost‑optimization opportunities. - Act as the escalation point for complex backend and infrastructure incidents. - Review and approve code contributions to maintain high technical standards. - Mentor and coach junior and backend developers. - Prioritize competing initiatives and communicate trade‑offs to stakeholders. - Propose and implement improvements to backend architecture, tooling, and workflows. Required Skills: - Strong proficiency in PHP and Node.js. - Deep understanding of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL), indexing, and performance tuning. - Advanced knowledge of AWS (EC2, Load Balancers, CloudWatch, networking). - Experience with Redis/Valkey and caching strategies. - Docker and containerized environments expertise. - Git, SSH, and Linux‑based environment proficiency. - Ability to debug distributed systems and resolve production incidents. - Clear, structured communication of technical decisions to technical and non‑technical stakeholders. - Demonstrated ownership of medium‑to‑large technical initiatives. - Balance of delivery speed with code quality and maintainability. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) preferred but not mandatory.
