Job Description
**Job Title** Research Integrity Associate **Role Summary** Responsible for triaging, assessing, and resolving research ethics and integrity queries across a range of scholarly publications. Works collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure investigations are conducted professionally, audibly, and in accordance with established policies and tools. **Expectations** - Manage a high volume of incoming ethics inquiries with accuracy and efficiency. - Demonstrate strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem‑solving. - Communicate clearly in writing and verbally with authors, editors, and partners. - Prioritise tasks, adapt quickly, and act as a self‑starter while working effectively in a team. - Maintain an auditable record of all cases and provide constructive feedback on tools and processes. **Key Responsibilities** - Triage and classify queries in the ethics inbox, escalating when appropriate. - Respond to internal and external publication ethics inquiries. - Evaluate special issue or similar proposals against due‑diligence protocols and data‑protection requirements. - Handle author name and authorship change requests following SOPs. - Participate in tool testing (e.g., iThenticate, Proofig) and deliver feedback. - Track investigations centrally, maintain audit trails, and feed case reporting systems. - Contribute to large‑scale, complex investigations, preparing summaries and supporting documents. - Interpret outputs from integrity detection tools and produce verification reports. - Draft author correspondence and post‑publication notices when necessary. - Provide insights to shape ethics and integrity policies and workflows. **Required Skills** - Exceptional detail orientation and analytical ability. - Excellent written and oral communication skills. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and shared‑folder collaboration. - Familiarity with research integrity concepts and publication ethics. - Ability to build rapport across all stakeholder levels. - Strong organisational and prioritisation skills. - Experience with scholarly journal submission systems (e.g., ScholarOne, Editorial Manager) is an advantage. - Proficiency with plagiarism‑detection or integrity‑assessment tools. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in a STEM or Social Sciences field, or an equivalent academic background. - Demonstrated understanding of research integrity and publication ethics. ---
