Job Description

Job Title: PHP Developer Role Summary Contract PHP Developer tasked with building, maintaining, and enhancing critical business applications using the Yii framework. Focus on performance, scalability, and reliability while collaborating with product owners, designers, and fellow developers in an Agile environment. Expectations - Deliver clean, maintainable code on schedule. - Participate actively in sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, and demo sessions. - Communicate progress and blockers clearly to the team. - Adhere to coding standards and best practices. - Commit to consistent testing, debugging, and deployment support. - Attend hybrid on‑site days as required. Key Responsibilities - Develop and maintain PHP applications utilizing the Yii framework. - Refactor existing code to improve performance, scalability, and reliability. - Design and implement new features in collaboration with product and design teams. - Write unit and integration tests; support debugging and deployment. - Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives). - Provide code reviews and mentor junior developers when needed. - Contribute to technical documentation and architecture notes. Required Skills - Solid commercial PHP development experience (3+ years). - Strong proficiency in Yii framework and MVC architecture. - Object‑oriented programming, Composer, Git, and dependency management. - SQL database experience (MySQL, PostgreSQL). - RESTful API design and consumption. - Unit testing with PHPUnit and debugging tools. - Agile/Scrum experience (developer role). - Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills. - Ability to work effectively in a hybrid, team‑based setting. Required Education & Certifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). - Certifications are optional; relevant PHP or Yii training and Agile certifications (Scrum Master, Product Owner) are a plus.
