Job Description
**Job Title:** Cybersecurity Intern **Role Summary** Assist the IT team in a 11‑week paid internship, focusing on day‑to‑day cybersecurity, networking, and help‑desk operations across a national real‑estate portfolio. Gain hands‑on experience with security tools, network infrastructure, identity management, and end‑user support while contributing to enterprise‑wide initiatives and a capstone project. **Expactations** - Complete all assigned technical tasks within the internship term. - Demonstrate continuous learning of security practices, networking concepts, and IT administration. - Actively participate in knowledge‑sharing sessions, property tours, and the capstone project. **Key Responsibilities** - Troubleshoot, document, and resolve technical issues via the ticketing system. - Manage user access, inventory, and provisioning using Active Directory and related tools. - Deploy and monitor security solutions to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities. - Ensure compliance of software distribution tools with security policies. - Facilitate employee onboarding/offboarding, including device and network access setup. - Configure and maintain email access lists on the email security gateway. - Support infrastructure projects (network, telecom, data‑center) as directed. **Required Skills** - Proficiency with Microsoft Windows OS, Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Active Directory. - Basic understanding of networking hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and telecommunications (VOIP, Unified Messaging). - Familiarity with virtualization (SANs, virtual machines) and collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint, O365). - Awareness of security concepts: vulnerability management, SIEM, MDR, IPS/IDS, SSO, MFA, SAML. - Strong organizational, time‑management, multi‑tasking, and problem‑solving abilities. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. **Required Education & Certifications** - Current enrollment or recent graduation in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. - High GPA preferred; MIS (Management Information Systems) major especially valued. - Certifications not mandatory but beneficial: CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, or similar.
