Job Description

**Job Title:** Cybersecurity Engineer **Role Summary:** Provide Tier II cybersecurity and technical support for the Missile Defense Agency’s Windows and Linux environments. Design, implement, and maintain security measures, conduct vulnerability assessments, analyze system logs, and ensure compliance with DoD cyber standards while collaborating with cross‑functional teams. **Expectations:** - Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and availability of mission‑critical systems. - Proactively identify and remediate vulnerabilities and threat exposures. - Deliver high‑quality, timely support and guidance to end‑users and technical teams. - Uphold DoD cybersecurity policies and reporting requirements. **Key Responsibilities:** - Resolve software, hardware, and network issues for Windows and Linux platforms (Tier II support). - Provide end‑user assistance at workstations, docking stations, and other IT assets. - Review logs for performance anomalies, detect negative trends, and recommend corrective actions. - Identify security vulnerabilities in software/hardware, recommend mitigations, and coordinate remediation. - Answer installation, operation, configuration, and usage questions. - Perform basic diagnostics, investigate root causes, and propose solutions for common failures. - Escalate complex problems to senior Linux and Windows engineers. - Execute additional cyber duties as assigned. **Required Skills:** - Hands‑on experience with Windows and Linux operating systems. - Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, vulnerability assessment tools, and risk analysis. - Proficiency in log analysis and anomaly detection. - Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities. - Effective communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders. - Ability to work independently and team‑orientated. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Current DoD 8570.01M IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security +) or eligibility to obtain it. - Active DoD Secret Security Clearance (required). - Minimum 2 years of directly related cybersecurity or IT support experience. - High‑school diploma or equivalent; college degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field preferred.
