Job Description
Job Title: IT Support Specialist Intern (Summer 2026) Role Summary: Provide first‑level technical support, troubleshoot hardware/software/network issues, and contribute to a cross‑functional capstone project while gaining exposure to cybersecurity operations and enterprise IT service management tools (e.g., Freshservice). Expectations: - Work 5 days per week at the office. - Deliver efficient, accurate support to end‑users and contribute to knowledge base documentation. - Collaborate with Service Desk, IT teams, and Cybersecurity squad to understand and implement best practices. - Actively participate in a departmental capstone project, delivering research findings to leadership. Key Responsibilities: - Respond to Freshservice tickets, resolve level‑1 incidents and escalation follow‑ups. - Troubleshoot hardware, software, OS (Windows/macOS) and network connectivity problems across multi‑platform environments. - Assist with onboarding/offboarding processes, including account provisioning and equipment setup. - Document solutions and update internal knowledge base resources. - Shadow cybersecurity team: observe threat monitoring, vulnerability assessments, incident response, and risk management. - Assist with log reviews, alert triage, and vulnerability scan analysis under supervision. - Collaborate with fellow interns on strategic capstone project: planning, research, execution, and presentation to senior leadership. Required Skills: - Strong verbal and written communication, customer‑service orientation. - Analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking proficiency. - Basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN). - Proficiency with Windows and macOS operating systems. - Familiarity with ITIL/ITSM principles and ticketing systems. - Self‑motivated, able to work independently and in team settings. Required Education & Certifications: - Current sophomore or junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field. - No mandatory certifications required; knowledge of MTIt, CompTIA A+, or related entry‑level credentials is a plus.
