**Job title** Head of Business Development **Role Summary** Lead the expansion of Lemonade’s distribution partner network across all primary product lines (Car, Pet, Renters, Home). Own the end‑to‑end go‑to‑market strategy for new partnership channels, manage a small BD team, and drive revenue growth through high‑value partner relationships. **Expectations** - Deliver ≥20% YoY revenue growth through partner acquisition. - Build and maintain a pipeline of 30+ qualified partnership opportunities. - Achieve quarterly partner onboarding targets and maintain partner satisfaction scores. - Meet or exceed defined KPI milestones (e.g., MRR contribution, partner churn). **Key Responsibilities** - Recruit, coach, and mentor a BD team; set clear performance goals. - Identify, negotiate, and finalize deals with strategic distribution partners in retail, software, finance, and employer‑benefits spaces. - Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data, and Partner Management to align partnership strategy with product roadmap and pricing. - Represent the company at industry events and conferences to cultivate brand influence. - Own the partnership budget, pipeline, and resource allocation. - Define, track, and report on KPIs; use data-driven insights to refine channel strategy. - Lead multi‑stage negotiations, from initial outreach through contract execution and launch. **Required Skills** - 10+ years in business development, strategic partnerships, and go‑to‑market, preferably in Insurance or FinTech. - 2–3+ years managing high‑performance BD teams. - Proven record of exceeding ambitious growth targets and closing large partnership deals. - Strong analytical and data‑driven decision‑making. - Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills. - Ability to influence senior leaders (VP, C‑level) internally and externally. - Comfortable leveraging AI tools to enhance partner acquisition and engagement. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree (minimum); MBA or other advanced degree preferred. - No specific certifications required.
