Job title: Senior Integration Systems Engineer
Role Summary: Provide full‑life‑cycle systems engineering support to a federal program management office, focusing on integration of technology solutions to protect national borders. Lead requirements analysis, design, testing, and deployment activities while ensuring compliance with DHS and CBP acquisition and cybersecurity frameworks.
Expactations: Deliver actionable, data‑driven insights to decision makers; maintain high‑level program documentation; manage risk and implement mitigation plans; drive configuration, version control, and observability of integrated systems; travel as required.
Key Responsibilities: • Own technology integration, process, and practice implementation for application, network, device, service, and data ecosystems.
• Conduct market research, trade studies, and requirements definition using DHS/DoD Acquisition Lifecycle and Systems Engineering Life Cycle frameworks.
• Design and automate integration, regression, and performance testing; troubleshoot root causes across application, network, and infrastructure layers.
• Manage configuration, version control, and multi‑environment (dev/test/stage/prod) environments.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response measures to meet cybersecurity objectives (patch management, vulnerability scanning, intrusion detection/prevention, log analysis).
• Draft and update system architecture, design documents, test plans, security plans, and POA&Ms.
• Produce clear, concise technical reports and presentations for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
Required Skills: • 10 + years of systems engineering in large, complex federal programs (or 7 + years with a Master’s)
• Proficiency in DHS/DoD acquisition and systems engineering life cycle processes
• Advanced requirements analysis, trade study development, and CONOPS creation
• Strong problem‑solving, organizational, communication, and leadership abilities
• Experience with integration, automation, monitoring, and cybersecurity tools
• Independent initiative with proven teamwork and collaboration skills
• Ability to travel out of state on a monthly basis
Required Education & Certifications: • STEM Bachelor’s degree (minimum) or Master’s with at least 7 years qualified experience
• Eligibility for U.S. Customs and Border Protection Biometric Identification (CBP BI); active CBP BI highly preferred.
