Zscaler Engineer
**Role Summary**
Support a U.S. government agency by deploying, configuring, and managing Zscaler Enterprise Cloud services (ZIA, ZPA, ZDX) and integrated security solutions in a Microsoft-centric environment. Drive Zero Trust implementation, policy management, and performance optimization while ensuring compliance and incident response.
**Expectations**
- Obtain Public Trust clearance.
- Work hybrid: onsite 3 days per week.
- Demonstrate 5+ years in cybersecurity with 2+ years in Zscaler services.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Deploy, configure, and maintain Zscaler services (ZIA, ZPA, ZDX) and ancillary security tools (EDR, DLP, secure web gateway, email security, IDPS, firewall, SIEM).
2. Integrate Zscaler with Microsoft platforms (Azure AD, Conditional Access, Intune, Microsoft Defender).
3. Design, implement, and audit security policies, SAML integrations, and user onboarding procedures.
4. Monitor traffic, security events, and performance; troubleshoot connectivity, authentication, and application access issues.
5. Enforce compliance, perform health checks, and manage upgrades or migrations.
6. Create and maintain technical documentation (SOPs, change records).
7. Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
8. Coordinate with engineering, operations, and compliance teams to enhance overall security posture.
**Required Skills**
- Proficiency in Windows/Linux administration.
- Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
- Experience with cloud, endpoint, identity, and network security tools.
- Hands‑on knowledge of Zscaler services (ZIA, ZPA, ZDX) – policy management, SAML, performance monitoring.
- Familiarity with Microsoft security stack (Azure AD, Conditional Access, Intune, Microsoft Defender).
- Ability to troubleshoot complex security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and document findings.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork abilities.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or 8+ years equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of cybersecurity experience across cloud, endpoint, identity, and network domains.
- 2+ years administering Zscaler.
- Preferred certifications: Zscaler Certified Administrator, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, GSEC, Microsoft SC‑300, CCNP Security, PCNSE, Splunk Certified Architect.
