Job Description
Job title: Application Engineer Co‑op/Intern Role Summary: A 12‑month onboard internship supporting the End‑User Aftermarket Application Engineering team in Port Arthur, TX. The co‑op assists with equipment surveys, data acquisition for rotating equipment, failed component analysis, inventory consolidation, and Quick Response Center initiatives under the Engineering Manager’s guidance. Expections: Deliver accurate equipment survey data, produce clear failure reports, build foundational knowledge of pumps and mechanical seals, collaborate with sales and reliability engineers, attend assigned meetings, and support regional service activities as directed. Key Responsibilities: • Conduct equipment and inventory surveys, including Flowstar.net participation. • Compile as‑found condition reports for failed pumps and seals. • Analyze failed components and present written and oral findings. • Support daily task progression per Engineering Manager schedule. • Participate in Quick Response Center projects and regional initiatives. • Maintain professional relationships with Application, Sales, and Reliability Engineers. Required Skills: • Current BS engineering student in good academic standing. • Strong written and verbal communication. • Proficient in Microsoft Office. • Ability to use basic measuring tools (dial calipers, micrometers). • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, organization, and prioritization. • Quick learner with solid troubleshooting potential. • Reliable transportation; occasional travel within the Southeast Region. Required Education & Certifications: • Enrolled in a BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or related field). • No specific certifications required.
